USDF Trainers Conference
Lots of takeaways from the USDF Trainers Conference and had the pleasure of meeting Lendon Gray who stopped by Laura Ashley Killian’s farm to watch a young rider. Lendon heads https://dressage4kids.org/programs/ which has a lot of opportunities for young riders to get a leg up! One of the takeaways as a general rule of thumbContinue reading “USDF Trainers Conference”
Winter Wonderland Dressage Show
This was a perfect show to top of the year and simultaneously kick off the new show season. On Saturday, Ritz showed Third Level Test 3 and got a 72% first time out and won his division. Only In America Show
Ritz debuted at Third Level Test 1 and received two respectable scores in the low and high 60’s with very tight judging for the weekend. The second test (high 60’s) smoothed out the bobbles from the first (low 60s), where Ritz may or may not have cantered a walk pirouette among other improvised moves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z03Uxv5nZmk
Scott Hassler Clinic
The single changes are confirmed and starting canter half-pass, as well as, exercises to increase the collection in the walk, trot, and canter. Ritz showed much progress from the last clinic in June where we were still figuring out the change aid and were throwing changes left and right including strings of 1 Tempis!

Stableview Dressage Show
Alhambra earned two scores – 60% and 63% – at Intermediare I at our first time out. She was so good, had a few green moments at the new level, but she tries her heart out! She continues to surprise me on what she can do! Go Amber!
Tryon Dressage Show
Bucky killed the Dressage Pony Classes at the Tryon Summer Show with scores in the 70s. Only his second show but acted like he’s done this his whole life.
